Who Owns Simplex Liquidating Trust Remnant Assets?
Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of the Simplex Liquidating Trust (Simplex) in March 2018.
On May 15, 2014, Simplex Healthcare, Inc. and A-Z Diabetes Care Club, LLC each filed a voluntary petition under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, jointly administered under Case No. 14-03920. On March 27, 2015, the Court entered an order confirming the Debtors’ Plan of Liquidation under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code, pursuant to which the Trust was created and vested with the power and duty to administer the remaining assets of the Debtors.

Founded in 2007, Simplex was a mail order provider of medical supplies to patients with diabetes. Diabetes Care Club, A simplex brand, grew to become the third largest mail order supplier of diabetic testing supplies for seniors and served over 260,000 patients. In 2009, Simplex was the largest donor to Healing Hands, donating over $1.2 million to help patients in third-world countries receive diabetes-treatment supplies. At its height, the company employed over 290 people.
Simplex also operated under several trade names including A-Z Diabetes Care Club, LLC, Diabetes Care Club, LLC, and Simplex Healthcare, Inc.
The former headquarters of Simplex was located in Franklin, TN. The company also had corporate addresses in Brentwood, TN and Mount Juliet, TN.
