About the Position
Senior IT Analyst
Location: Skokie, IL (Onsite for first year and then hybrid)
Role Overview
Oak Point Partners is a fast-growing financial and investment company with a unique business model. Our entrepreneurial environment offers team members the ability to learn, grow, and have a meaningful impact every day.
We are looking for a Senior IT Analyst. In this role, you will be the "go-to" person for all-things -technology, in our office. You will be responsible for ensuring our team stays connected, productive, and secure. We need someone who can solve complex problems on the spot, manage physical hardware with care, has high sense of urgency in resolving issues, collaborate effectively with peers, managers, and the leadership team, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members with clarity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
End-User Support: Provide hands-on support for laptop setup (Windows/MacOS), peripheral issues, and mobile device management.
Office Infrastructure: Maintain and troubleshoot office network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi access points, switches, workspace setup, and physical cabling.
Software Management: Manage accounts, access, and updates for standard office software (e.g., Microsoft 365, Zoom, and internal business applications).
Hardware Lifecycle: Manage the inventory of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, and secure disposal of end-of-life equipment.
Collaboration Tech: Ensure our conference rooms, video conferencing equipment, and collaborative display systems are always functioning perfectly.
Security Hygiene: Maintain strong security practices, including patching, endpoint protection management, and enforcing internal IT policies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or experience required to perform the essential duties.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT support role working with 50 to 250 people in a company.
Deep understanding of modern operating systems (Windows 10/11 and macOS), network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi 6 standards), and cloud-based SaaS administration (preferably with Microsoft product suite).
The ability to diagnose and fix issues methodically—you don't just clear errors; you find the root cause to prevent them from recurring.
You appreciate that downtime is lost productivity for the company, and you are always making an effort to resolve issues in the quickest manner while maintaining quality.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You can explain technical solutions to a business analyst or executive without getting bogged down in jargon.
A high level of integrity and discretion. You understand the sensitivity of data within a fintech environment.
You are comfortable working onsite with most days in the office, and taking ownership of office technology without needing constant supervision.
You possess the ability to work both within and across teams to collaborate effectively.
You are good at establishing processes and standard operating procedures, and at documentation. You thrive in environments where technology is the backbone of business. You are proactive in routinely inspecting office infrastructure to ensure you identify and resolve issues, often before the team even notices the issue (e.g. you notice a conference room speaker is acting up before the team complains, and you take the initiative to fix it). Experience in technology-based services business with companies with 50 to 250 employees.
You have demonstrated a record of being proficient in the IT analyst role.
