Who Owns Ritz Camera Centers, Inc. Remnant Assets?

Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of the RCC Liquidating Corporation fka Ritz Camera Centers, Inc. Bankruptcy Estate in May 2012.

On February 22, 2009, Ritz Camera Centers, Inc. filed a chapter 11 petition in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, assigned Case No. 09-10617.  Thereafter, a trustee was charged with liquidating the assets of Ritz Camera Centers, Inc.

About Ritz Camera Centers, Inc.

Founded in 1918, Ritz Camera was once the largest specialty camera and image chain in the United States, operating more than 1,200 photo stores in over 45 states throughout the country. What started out as a one-stop shop to get a photo taken and developed quickly expanded to become a place to take of all your photographic needs. Ritz Camera was the first company to offer 4×6 prints from 35mm film, as well as bordered prints. The stores sold cameras, photography equipment, accessories, and repair services. At its peak, the company employed over 6,500 people.

Ritz Camera also operated as Barry’s Camera, Boaters World, CPI Photo Finish, Dean’s Photo, Fox Photo, Kits Camera, Lion Photo, and Wolf Camera.

The former headquarters of Ritz Camera was in Beltsville, Maryland.
