Who Owns Motors Liquidation Company Remnant Assets?
Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of the Motors Liquidation Company DIP Lenders Trust (Motors Liquidation) in December 2018.
On June 1, 2009, Motors Liquidation Company, MLC of Harlem, Inc., MLCS, LLC, and MLCS Distribution, and on October 9, 2009, Remediation and Liability Management Company, Inc. and Environmental Corporate Remediation Company, Inc. each filed a voluntary petition under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, jointly administered under Case No. 09-50026. On March 29, 2011, the Court entered an order confirming the Debtors’ Second Amended Joint Chapter 11 Plan. On December 15, 2011, Motors Liquidation executed the Motors Liquidation Company DIP Lenders Trust Agreement, pursuant to which the Trust was created and the Trust Administrator was appointed and vested with the power and duty to administer the remaining assets of the trust.
