Director of Relationship Management
Location: Skokie, IL (Hybrid / Remote options available)

The Director of Relationship Management builds, manages, and grows relationships between Oak Point Partners and transaction partners and others who may be influential in the growth of our portfolio. This role focuses on developing executive-level relationships, leading communication strategies, and driving strategic account planning and management in partnership with key internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings significant experience managing high-value accounts, building long-term relationships with senior executives, coordinating cross-functional support, and setting and executing account-based marketing strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for building and maintaining executive relationships across strategic accounts and partnerships (as needed)
Lead post-signature account transitions to ensure clear handoffs, continuity, and alignment across internal teams and external stakeholders.
Develop and execute account management strategies, including executive communication plans, leadership touchpoints, and marketing outreach.
Plan and support executive engagements, including virtual meetings, in-person events, and other networking opportunities that strengthen relationships.
Track account activity, stakeholder changes, organizational developments, and market trends to identify growth opportunities and best plan of action for capitalizing on them.
Gather and synthesize account and stakeholder intelligence to support deal strategy, prioritization, and internal planning.
Partner with internal stakeholders to share account insights and support growth initiatives.
Support late-stage deals by participating in executive discussions, coordinating references, and providing insights that strengthen execution.
Use technology and AI tools to scale both tactical and strategic communications across relationships.
Develop and track KPIs to monitor success and areas for growth.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or experience required to perform the essential duties.
Bachelor’s degree required
7+ years of experience managing strategic accounts and executive relationships or similarly complex external stakeholder portfolios
Experience working with large enterprise organizations, ideally including public companies and/or companies with over $1BN in annual revenue
Demonstrated success working with C-suite and senior executive stakeholders across complex organizations; experience with senior finance, legal, restructuring or corporate development executives is a plus
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with strong executive presence and ability to lead strategic conversations with polished executive-facing communications
Strong planning and account management capabilities, with the ability to build and execute structured plans to solidify and expand existing relationships
Commercially-minded, with an understanding of how executive relationships, market perception, referrals, and stakeholder engagement can support future deal flow.
Ability to gather, synthesize, and communicate market intelligence, stakeholder insights, and relationship context to internal teams
Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple relationships, communication plans, and internal priorities simultaneously
Effectively collaborates across sales, marketing, operations, legal, and finance, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong sense of ownership and accountability with the ability and desire to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment
Proficiency with relevant technology (e.g., Salesforce or similar CRMs), modern collaboration tools, AI/automation, and digital communication platforms with an ability and willingness to learn and leverage internal proprietary systems
Comfortable with occasional travel and in-person meetings or events (up to 25%)

Compensation
Annual salary is $125,000 to $200,000 depending on prior work experience. Plus additional potential for discretionary annual performance-based bonus.
