Collectively, our
firm has over twenty years of experience in the commercial asset recovery
business. We will execute transactions anywhere in the United States,
and will consider international transactions in selected areas. Our
focus is exclusively commercial. We do not purchase any consumer-related
portfolios.
We own and operate
a specialty commercial collections agency, C&W Consultants, based
in suburban Chicago. Founded in 1984, C&W has developed unique expertise
in the recovery of highly aged claims, high balance claims, and complex
claims. C&W was acquired by Oak Point Partners in 2003 because of
its expertise and outstanding performance track record. Oak Point Partners
thus performs collection efforts on purchased portfolios via C&W
Consultants.
Our firm is a unique
resource for bankruptcy trustees, secured lenders, restructuring officers,
and business managers in several ways. First, we provide sellers with
an outlet to generate cash from assets that they may have previously
written-off as losses. These assets may include highly aged write-offs,
small balance claims, difficult to collect default-judgments, under-documented
claims, or complex disputes. Second, we offer an easy process to complete
a transaction. We make fast decisions, require limited diligence, and
will purchase even with limited access to historical documentation.
And third, we are extremely careful to control the collection process.
We firmly believe in taking a consultative approach to collection efforts,
finding far more success in rationally and respectfully seeking resolution
than in other less diplomatic tactics. For this reason we retain tight
control over the claims, and we don’t re-sell claims.
